Merle GraybillMerle Graybill, Director
Merle brings many years of higher education and non-profit experience to the Campus · Community Engagement Office .  She has worked for Ohio University since 1993, serving as Director of Student Services and as a liaison to regional campuses for the College of Education until 1998. Following a move to the Division of Student Affairs, she coordinated the Service Learning program and became Director of the Center for Community Service in 2000. From 2003 – 2006 she served as Associate Dean of Students with additional oversight for the International Student and Faculty Services office, the LGBT Programs Center, the Office of Multicultural Programs and the Lindley Cultural Center.

Merle has collaborated to launch several new initiatives at Ohio University such as Faculty Learning Communities and is the current chair of the Appalachian Learning Community. She also led two task forces to establish new services - the Off-Campus Living Office and the Women’s Center.

Merle is an Ohioan of Appalachian heritage—she grew up in Cleveland.  She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Union Institute in 1979 and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Ohio University in 1995.  She is also a licensed social worker, and a consultant, trainer and coach in the areas of diversity, leadership, conflict resolution and management.


Lisa Kamody

 

Lisa Kamody, Associate Director
An Athens County resident since the 1980’s, Lisa brings to the Campus · Community Engagement Office many years of collaboration and partnership with local and regional constituents, an excellent outreach sensibility, and extensive marketing experience.

Lisa joined the staff of Ohio University in 2001 with Lifelong Learning’s Community and Professional Programs (CPP). While at CPP she organized, marketed and managed professional development training programs for public service, non-profit and business sector partners in Ohio and beyond. She also represented CPP and Lifelong Learning at national trade shows sponsored by professional organizations such as the American Correctional Association, Cygnus Business Media, the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.

Prior to Ohio University, Lisa worked for Athens County Job and Family Services as an Employment Services Representative and for privately-owned business. She is a Girl Scout leader and active in many local organizations and events related to her family and community.
Originally from Lorain County Ohio, Lisa came to Ohio University as a journalism major. Her many experiences from those years include being a member of the Marching 110, a student tour guide, and working many late nights at The Post. She earned her B.S. in Communications from Ohio University and is currently pursuing a Masters degree.
