Ohio University has long fulfilled a mission of outreach by engaging in partnerships with the communities surrounding our six campuses and beyond, via education, human services, research, training, and technical assistance.

Vision OHIO and the University’s 5 year plan call for even more elevated support and enhanced approaches to outreach, among many other objectives.

The office for Campus · Community Engagement is dedicated to increasing and enhancing these multi-faceted outreach activities.

Mission

Campus · Community Engagement promotes, facilitates and supports Community Engaged Scholarship - effective partnerships that address the critical needs of communities, meet the learning and/or reserach objectives of faculty and students, and fulfill the mission of Ohio University.

Goals

CCE promotes and supports Community Engaged Scholarship by:

• Leveraging successful collaboration through constultation with and networking of faculty and community-based organizations

• Collaborating with Ohio University entities to develop innovative partnership strategies that benefit communities in our region

• Engaging and providing resources for faculty to develop courses that incorporate community-based learning and research

• Promoting the success and impact of Ohio University’s Community Engaged Scholarship
